Finding the right breeder is just as important as choosing the right kitten.

At GB Cattery, we raise TICA-registered British Shorthair and British Longhair kittens in our home in Northern Virginia. We are a small family cattery, and every kitten grows up as part of our daily life—not in a separate kennel or a room filled with cages.

Our goal has never been to produce as many kittens as possible. Instead, we focus on raising healthy, confident kittens with calm personalities that will become beloved family members for many years.

Located in Northern Virginia

Our cattery is based in Ashburn, Virginia, making it convenient for families throughout the state as well as neighboring Maryland, Washington, DC, and many other East Coast locations.

To protect the health of our breeding cats and young kittens, we maintain a strict biosecurity policy. For this reason, we do not allow visitors inside the cattery.

Instead, we offer personal video calls where you can meet your chosen kitten, observe its personality, ask questions, and get to know us before making your decision. This allows every family to see their future companion in a familiar, stress-free environment while helping us maintain a safe and healthy home for all of our cats.

We regularly work with families from:

  • Ashburn

  • Fairfax

  • Arlington

  • Alexandria

  • Richmond

  • Virginia Beach

  • Norfolk

  • Charlottesville

  • Roanoke

  • Winchester

  • Fredericksburg

If you live farther away, we're happy to discuss transportation options and help you determine the safest and most convenient way to bring your kitten home.

Our Breeding Program

GB Cattery specializes in Golden British Shorthair and British Longhair cats.

Our breeding program focuses primarily on beautiful Black Golden and Blue Golden bloodlines. These colors are still relatively uncommon in the United States, and we have spent years carefully selecting our breeding cats to preserve both their appearance and their wonderful temperament.

We believe beauty means very little without good health and a stable personality. That is why temperament is just as important to us as eye color, coat quality, or pedigree.

How Our Kittens Grow Up

Every kitten is born and raised inside our home.

From the very beginning they become accustomed to everyday household sounds, people, and normal family life. By the time they are ready for their new homes, they have already learned to use the litter box, explored different rooms, played with a variety of toys, and developed confidence through daily interaction.

Each kitten has its own personality. Some are curious and adventurous, while others are calm and enjoy sitting quietly beside their people. We spend enough time with every kitten to help match them with the family that fits them best.

Choosing the Right Kitten

Many people contact us looking for the "most beautiful" kitten.

Our advice is always the same: choose the kitten whose personality fits your family.

Since we don't conduct in-person visits, every family is invited to schedule a live video call. During the call, we'll introduce your chosen kitten, talk about its personality, activity level, and development, and answer any questions you may have. We believe choosing a kitten should never feel rushed, and we're happy to spend the time helping you find the companion that's truly right for your family.

Reservation Process

Our reservation process is straightforward.

Browse the available kittens on our website and contact us if one catches your eye.

We'll then schedule a personal video call, giving you the opportunity to meet your kitten, see how it interacts, and ask any questions before placing a reservation.

Once you decide to reserve your kitten, a deposit secures your reservation until it's ready to go home.

While you wait, we'll keep you updated with photos, videos, and progress reports so you can watch your kitten grow before pickup or transportation.

Going Home

Before leaving for its new home, every kitten is accustomed to using the litter box and eating independently.

Your kitten will also go home with TICA registration and the documents included with your purchase package.

Whether you're picking up your kitten yourself or arranging transportation, we'll guide you through the process and make sure you're fully prepared for your new family member.

One of the most rewarding parts of our work is hearing from families after their kitten has settled into its new home. We love receiving photos and updates and watching our kittens grow into cherished companions.

Why Families Choose GB Cattery

Every breeder has a different philosophy.

Ours is simple.

Raise fewer kittens, spend more time with each one, and never rush the process.

We believe this gives every kitten the best possible start in life and helps create the calm, affectionate personality that British cats are known for.
